Aaron is recognised as one of Australia’s leading Self Managed Super Fund experts providing strategic advice and direction for SMSF Trustees and financial services professionals (e.g. accountants, financial planners & lawyers).  Aaron is a Specialist SMSF Adviser (SSA), recognised as the highest industry accreditation for SMSF professionals.  He is also a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and RG146 compliant.

Aaron is a highly regarded presenter within the SMSF industry.  He has appeared on several occasions on the Sky Business TV show, “Your Money, Your Call” (Retirement) and is regularly within the media discussing SMSFs, including feature articles within the Australian Financial Review and The Australian newspapers.

In February 2010, Aaron was personally invited by the Chair of the Super System Review, Mr Jeremy Cooper to meet with him and share his views regarding the Phase Three Issues Paper on Structure (inc. SMSFs).

Aaron’s expertise within SMSFs is extensive.  Some of the areas in which he provides services includes:

• Speaking engagements including conferences, professional development days and workshops
• Strategic advice (contributions, pensions, reserves, limited recourse borrowing, etc);
• SMSF technical support;
• SMSF training;

Aaron was an invited member of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) SMSF Audit Working Group for Super Simplification, which was established as a result of the Simplification of Superannuation reforms introduced by the Coalition Government in July 2007.

Aaron is the current Chairman of the SPAA Victorian Chapter, SPAA National Membership Committee member and part of the SPAA National Conference Committee.

Personal

Aaron is married to wife, Natalie (since 2002), with three young children (twins – Ella & Thomas, and Benjamin).

Aaron loves his sport, being an Essendon FC AFL member and a member of Northern Golf Club. In a previous life (at a younger age), Aaron was a nationally ranked high jumper, achieving a personal best of 2.14m. He also ran professionally for a few years, including running at the Stawell Gift.
